Om Namah Shivaya: This Temple is one of the most important temples in Kerala where there is equal importance for Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu & Lordess Mahadevi.this is one of the ancient temples where main investiture was done by Kanwa Maharshi. Because of high spiritual importance of temple it is very holy to visit this temple.
Energy is all around us. We can only feel it but can't see it. We may need a fan or tube light to see it and feel it in a wide range. Same way God is all around us. We feel his presence but can’t see him. According to Hindu belief, God has no shape or form. But like a fan to feel the wind, like a tube light to see the energy, a temple act as media to feel and see God’s presence for common people.
A human body is made of 5 elements (“Panchabhootha” – air, water, fire, earth, vacuum) according to Hindu belief. A human has 5 senses (eye, nose, tongue, ear and skin) and by visiting a temple, his 5 senses will be given pleasure.
For eyes: the idol of God, Sculptures in temple, lights of lamp etc.
For nose: pleasant aroma from agarbathi, karpoora etc.
For tongue: prasadhams like Payasam, ladoo, annadhana, etc.
For years : vadhyamela of different instruments.
For skin: Chandhana, vibhoothi, kalabha etc
Thus all his senses are given goodness. By doing poojas for God, we pray for our physical pleasure (“sreyas”) and spiritual enlightment (“preyas”).
